<오토>는 측정기계로 흡수되는 데이터 값과 능동적으로 방출하는 신호들로서 미세한 감각적 행위들이 충돌하는, 자동과 자율의 경합으로 이루어진 영상시(詩)다. 사람의 눈에 가깝게 사물과 환경을 감지하려는 카메라와 컴퓨터 비전은 각 이미지의 관심요소를 집요하게 추적하고, 모든 행위를 분절된 시공간의 이미지 단위로 받아들이는 속도의 맹렬함을 보여준다. 한편 자신의 신체를 적극적으로 경유하며 작업하는 두 명의 아티스트는 폭우와 안개와 같은 시각적 신기루, 충분치 않은 빛, 빠른 움직임과 같이 컴퓨터 비전이 정복하고자 하는 다양한 악조건들을 유유히 포용한다.

Auto is a video poetry comprised of a rivalry between automation and autonomy, in which the data absorbed into the sensing machines clash with delicate sensory behaviors that are actively emitted signals. The camera and computer vision, both attempting to sense things and surroundings in the same way as the human eye, reveal the fierceness of the speed at which they track the features in each image and ingest every action in a segmented unit of space-time. On the other hand, the two artists, who actively utilize their own bodies as the medium for their respective work, leisurely embrace myriad adverse conditions computer vision tries to conquer, which include visual obstacles like downpour and fog, dim light, and quick movements.
